Author Interview with Berengaria Brown

We would like to welcome Berengaria Brown with us today. She was kind enough to answer a whole slew of questions that we were curious about. We hope you enjoy getting to know her as much as we did!

What's the last book you read?

Anny Cook’s “Spear of Retribution”. I really loved it and can’t wait for the next one in this series.

Paper or ebook?

Both. E for convenience, paper to keep.

Boxers or briefs?

Commando!

Hairy chests or smooth shaved?

Both. Each is appealing in different ways.

Which celebrity would you want with you during the zombie apocalypse?

James Bond. Any of them. All of them.

Dream date night?

James Bond takes me out to dinner. He’s suave, sophisticated, sexy. Of course the bad guys try to attack us and we have an adventure. I get to drive his awesome car illegally and very fast somewhere incredibly exciting. I’m sure you can guess how the evening ends, after all, I write erotic romance.

What was the last movie you saw in the theater?

“Skyfall”. I really enjoyed it especially the motorcycle chase over the rooftops of the market.

Dream vacation?

On a beach, somewhere hot. Hawaii would work.

You have a lazy Saturday afternoon, what do you do with it?

In summer, on a beach with a hot book and a hotter man. In winter, curled up in front of the fire with a hot book and a hotter man.

Are you wearing socks?

It’s winter, so yes. Ask me again in summer.

Beach or mountains?

Beach.

Boots or flip flops?

Flip flops until it gets cold, then boots.

T-shirts or tuxedos?

Naked is better.

What works in progress do you have going?

I have a Valentine’s Day short story coming out on 13 February, “Chocolate-Coated Reunion”.
Matt arranged to meet Jake for Christmas Eve drinks after work. Matt hoped this would be the start of a relationship. But his boss dropped a huge pile of work on his desk at the last minute and he missed the last bus home.

As well as having kept Jake waiting so long, he left his wallet and cell phone on his desk in his rush to catch the bus.

Jake refused to talk to him or forgive him. As Valentine’s Day approaches Matt is determined to reconnect with Jake. But is Jake too hurt and disillusioned to forgive him?

Do you have to think/work through the story or do the characters “speak” to you and the story line just comes?

The story always starts for me with the characters. I can’t begin writing until they’ve told me a beginning and the end with some mid-points to hit along the way. The rest just happens.

What kind of books do you like to read?

Just about anything. Contemporary, paranormal, futuristic, steampunk, historical, mystery…

New writers are always trying to glean advice from those with more experience. What suggestions do you have for new writers?

Never give up. Keep reading, keep writing, keep polishing your craft.
