Man of the cavebear
Kate Roman

Kate Roman has developed a very strong story between Taran and his savage lover Roke. They find each other while Taran is on his rite of passage hunt for his tribe. Instead of killing his prey he finds another way to conquer his furry friend. His loyalty to his tribe pulls at him and he must make a choice between the life he lusts after and the life he is expected to have.

The characters were well developed and the story was well paced. The writing was great but some of the plot points seemed a little far fetched. After a struggle with the tribesman Roke is attacked but doesn't get hurt at all not a scratch. Also the end seemed to be a bit too cliche for my liking.

The Briar Rose: Hoarse Play

The lovely couple Jackson and Burger come to the Briar Rose BDSM B&B. They discover their deep love and connection through some rough play. This rough play is prompted and demonstrated by the owner Matt and Adam who are attempting to start their unique new business idea. In the end Jackson and Burger are closer than ever with all their relationship "issues" worked out. This is all due to the assistance of Matt and Adam and some time away from the lime light.

The idea for the BDSM B&B us brilliant for starters. The characters were will developed and the pacing was spot on. I had a slight issue with the almost identical way that the two couples spoke to each other. It almost seemed like the author might have been writing the same dialogue or he could be suggesting the couples are not as different as they seem in the beginning. I am not sure of the reason for it so I had to take a star away but that was my only issue.

A Fighting Chance

****1/2

Taylor (Tazer) interupts his roomie Owen's romantic moment after returning home from the bar fight. He lost and is badly beaten and in need of medical aid. It is only natural for Owen to care for his "friend" and this leads to an awkward confession of love. The pair agree to give a relationship a try despite their fears of being hurt.

This was a great quickie. My only complaint is that it is too short. It would have been great to have drawn things out a little even the sex scene was a little too short. It was entertaining and a good read for those with a shorter attention span or just a need for a quick fix. This is however expandable into a longer decent ebook.

Lex Harrington doesn't seem to have much luck with men, and being a nurse working long hours doesn't help the situation either. He meets Troy Bernay to discuss his clients son, Jeffrey Haskell, a patient Lex worked on a few days prior after a car accident. He has an instant attraction to Troy, but the threat of losing his job if he talks to the police or a lawyer has him keeping his distance.
Lex is surprised a few days later to find Troy at his friends house party and he decides to go for it, besides, whats the worse that can happen?
This is a good mix of crime and a great blooming romance. The characters are well developed and it has a interesting plot but there is a lot of unnecessary wording. Although, that doesn't make this read any less enjoyable.

When a moonshine runner is bitten by a werewolf he thinks things can't get more complicated but they can. Another victim of the bite finds him by tracking the person who bit him. There is an immediate connection and the two get together things seem to get so much better. They find something in eachother that they cannot deny of go without ever.

The story was well written and the characters were well developed. Some issues occured for me when the person who infected the men came into play. It seemed too short and kind of rushed to me. It was also aparent to me that the phrase "possibly a shower" came in more than I would have liked to see it. Overall a good story.

Repeating History: The Eye of Ra
Dakota Chase
Prizm Books
Ebook
ISBN: 978-1-60370-982-8
*****

Two boys who are troublemakers start a fire and must get the items back to prevent them from going to jail. They are magically brought back in time to get the eye of ra amulet from king tut. After surviving a battle and saving tut they are given his amulet as a gift of appreciation. Upon their return to their private school and their professors office they know there are more relics to retreive from time.

This series is great. The two boys have a great character development and a good natural way of communicating. It is also a good way to get history lessons into young peoples lives through some fun fiction they can relate to. Definately a good story that will lead to a long series of great adventures.
